Self-Care For New Moms

Hi! Coming out of a bright and shiny haze after the birth of my second son, Abel Phoenix, just a little over two weeks ago. He’s the sweetest and cutest thing since the birth of my last son, and ALL attention has been on both of the boys (as expected)! I literally need to go through a list of self-care necessities almost daily to remind myself that my health very much matters when it comes to taking care of others on a daily, and minute-to-minute basis. Here’s the short list for all you moms to read through and aim for daily:

  1. in my opinion, the most important, game-changing goal: Try to take a hot shower every single day. I think this may be virtually impossible as of now.

  2. Do something active for at least 10 minutes a day, including taking a walk and/or stretching.

  3. Eat a FULL meal off of a plate while sitting.

  4. Laugh at something, even while completely overwhelmed.

  5. Talk to your partner about something that doesn’t have to do with babies or children.

Also reminding myself that this will 100% get easier!
